Working Towards a Better You
ABOUT US
Our Roots
Taking Care of Me, My Journey began operations in February 2018 as a consumer-operated, peer recovery center for individuals living with mental illness and/or alcohol or other drug addiction. It is intended to serve as a place where peers can learn about their illness or addiction, talk with others about their struggles and recovery, and spend time with others who have “walked the walk” to improve their lives. Taking Care of Me, My Journey also focuses on educating and supporting family members of individuals living with mental illness or drug/alcohol addiction. All staff at the center are mental health professionals that have lived through experiences of mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction, or trauma; and have been in recovery for years. Taking Care of Me, My Journey is a nonprofit organization and operates solely off of fundraisers and donations.

The mission of Taking Care of Me, My Journey is to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of all the individuals of the community through counseling, education, peer support and advocacy.
